Network Lab Forms Alliance with Unique Digital to Sell Printed Goods
Based on 3-Dimensional Computer Graphics Characters
High-Definition Printed Goods Available at Network Lab's "e-njoyPicture"
Web Site
TOKYO, April 12, 2001 - Network Lab Ltd. (Headquarters:
Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Makio Nishizuka) has formed an alliance
with Unique Digital Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President:
Katsumi Ureshino) to use "e-njoyPicture (http://nwl.enjoypicture.com/),"
a site run by Network Lab, to provide a new online service supplying
a variety of custom printed goods based on popular 3-D computer graphic
(3-D CG) characters owned by Unique Digital's parent company, Digit,
Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Katsumi Ureshino).
The 3-D CG "idols" that will be made available for printed goods are
all very popular celebrities found in CG iCupid magazine (a monthly
publication that comes with a CD-ROM), which is published by Unique
Digital and sold by Digit, Inc.
Chiasa, Matsuoka, Yumi and Kawamura Mai, four of the most popular
3-D CG idols, will appear as part of the first wave of services made
at the e-njoyPicture Web site. Users will be able to select the idol
of their choosing and then order a high-definition photo print set
that comes in a handsomely designed folder (product name: Megamix
Printy*) online. A five-print set will cost 3,000 yen (tax not included)
and express shipping will cost 400 yen (not for sale outside Japan;
payment by credit card only).
In addition to the print sets, the e-njoyPicture Web site will eventually
make the highly premium and popular 3-D CG idol images available in
other forms as well, such as mugs, cork lid pots, mouse pads, T-shirts,
throw pillows and hand towels (all in high-definition full color).
Each printed good will be completely unique as Network Lab will only
provide made-to-order goods. Also, Network Lab plans to make available
not just the 3-D CG idols that appear in Unique Digital's magazines,
CG iCupid and iCupid, but also real idols (magazine idol contest participants).
* Megamix Printy is short for Megami (Japanese for goddess) + mix;
and print + pretty.
