Plaza Create, Developer of "Palette Plaza," Japan's
Largest Chain of DPE Shops, Begins New Service on December 1
Plaza Create Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President:
Yasuhiro Oshima), developer of "Palette Plaza," Japan's largest chain
of DPE shops with 1,250 shops throughout Japan, has established an
Internet-based total website, "80210.com (palette.com)," which offers
all of the enjoyment of photography. The Company will begin offering
the new service on December 1, 2001.
"80210.com (palette.com)" is a "total site for enjoying photographs"
that offers a full range of services for taking, viewing and producing
photographs. Services include the on-line shopping corner "Palette
Camera," where customers can purchase cameras starting with popular
digital cameras as well as film cameras such as instamatics and single
lens reflex cameras, plus a wide assortment of photography products
and image-related goods such as tripods, bags and photography supplies.
The site also provides access to "Net Album," where customers can
save the photographs they've taken as an electronic album on the Internet,
a "Net-Print/Postcard" corner for ordering prints of high-resolution
silver-halide photographs, "Enjoy Photo" where customers can process
photographs they've taken by order, and "Palette Channel," a corner
that offers plans and information content concerning photographs.
Plaza Create has closely followed the popularization of digital cameras
and the coming of the Internet era. Since 1995, the Company has "built
the No. 1 corporate group in analog and digital photographs." For
services "80210.com" has begun offering as well, Plaza Create will
take advantage of synergies among its group companies. Oriental Photo
Supply Co., Ltd. will handle purchasing, stocking and distribution
of on-line shopping products, Gigno System Japan, Inc. will provide
Internet album services, and Network Lab Ltd. will manage image processing
for Enjoy Photo. The Company will also utilize "Palette Plaza," Japan's
largest nationwide shop network with approximately 1,250 shops, for
direct contact with customers concerning their Net-Print orders. This
synergy will enable Plaza Create to utilize the Internet to provide
customers with a variety of services for enjoying photographs 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year.
To celebrate the opening of "80210.com" Plaza Create will hold a gift
campaign from Saturday, December 1 through Tuesday, December 25, 2001.
Customers who purchase a digital or film camera at Palette Camera
will receive a chance to win one of several premiums (Prize A: two
tickets for an overnight stay and two meals at a nationally famous
hot-springs inn; Prize B: a portable DVD player with liquid crystal
monitor).
