On May 21, 2003, Plaza Create Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku,
Tokyo; President: Yasuhiro Oshima) will commence high-quality silver-salt
photo printing services for photos taken by cellphones at all its
Palette Plaza shops, the largest domestic chain of DPE (photo development,
printing and enlargement).
This series of printing services for cellphone cameras at Palette
Plaza shops will be called "Keitai Photo." An advertisement
campaign, "Bring Cellphone Photos to Palette Plaza!," will
be developed to coincide with the launch.
Adding the Fun of "Beautiful Pictures"
to Cellphone Use
The introduction of this service coincides with the launch of its
cellphone with integrated 1.24-million-pixel CCD "A5401CA"
developed by Casio Computer Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku,
Tokyo; President: Kazuo Kashio). Image data taken by "A5401CA"
can be printed as regular-size photos at all Palette Plaza shops.

In the past, pictures taken by cellphone cameras have been used
to "view" and to "send" to others; however,
with the introduction of mega-pixel cameras, all Palette Plaza shops
can now offer high-quality silver-salt regular-size photos for cellphone
users. Now, they can enjoy the added function of digital camera
for their cell phone cameras with these printing services.
Furthermore, as these services are launched, Palette Plaza shops
will be equipped with all "au"cellphone models with camera
as well as detachable media to extract image data taken from all
other cellphone carriers' products available in the market.
(Note 1) Immediately after the launch of the service,
speedy photo development (large size) will be offered at approximately
half of Palette Plaza shops while the other half will offer next
day/two-day service. The number of shops offering speedy photo development
will be aggressively increased in the near future.
Variety of Services Available for "Keitai
Photo"
At Palette Plaza shops, you can enjoy a variety of "Keitai
Photo" services. Currently, in addition to high-quality silver-salt
photo printing, all our shops offer sticker printing by Palette
Plaza Digital Station and writing service on CD-R to save image
data taken by a cellphone camera. Palette Plaza will continue to
develop and offer new services and plans to enhance your photo-taking
experience.
